Cellist Karen Kocharyan has been announced among the professors of Accordi Musicali Academy 2026, where he will lead cello masterclasses for young musicians from around the world.
A distinguished performer and chamber musician, Kocharyan studied at the Yerevan Tchaikovsky School of Music and later at the Yerevan State Conservatory under Professor Geronty Talalyan.
He is widely recognised as one of the founding members of the Khachaturian Trio, with which he has performed internationally in prestigious concert halls across Europe and beyond. Alongside his chamber music activity, Kocharyan has appeared as soloist with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra and collaborated with conductors including Alexander Ivashkin and Eduard Topchjan.
Since 2017, he has served as concertmaster of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra. As a chamber musician, he has collaborated with internationally renowned artists including Boris Andrianov, Alexander Ghindin, and Wolfgang Meyer.
His participation in Accordi Musicali Academy 2026 will bring extensive orchestral, chamber music, and pedagogical experience to the academy’s international programme.
