InClassica 2025 Pays Grand Tribute to Alexey Shor, Composer in Residence at Accordi Musicali Academy
The Accordi Musicali Academy, taking place from the 2nd of July to the 12th of August 2025, is all set to bring aspiring musicians exceptional classical music education in the stunning Italian region of Abruzzo, with none other than maestro Alexey Shor, dedicatee of InClassica 2025 serving as Composer in Residence.
Dedicated to the 55th birthday of Composer in Residence of Accordi Musicali Academy, Alexey Shor, the 14th edition of the prestigious InClassica International Music Festival returns to Dubai in April 2025. Honouring the life and works of the maestro, the grand affair features an outstanding lineup of artists and orchestras presenting spectacular performances celebrating Shor's best works, including the world premiere of his Violin Concerto No. 7, among many others. As the heart of the 2025 iteration, his legendary works will be performed by esteemed figures in classical music, including violinist Maxim Vengerov, violist David Aaron Carpenter, pianist Mikhail Pletnev and conductor Tomàs Grau, etc, all paying tribute to the virtuoso.
Aside from InClassica and Accordi Musicali Academy, Alexey Shor also serves as a resident composer for events like The Classic Piano International Competition, Classic Violin Olympus and The Accordi Musicali International Music Festival and rightfully so, as he is an artist known all over the globe for his musical talents. His compositions have graced some of the biggest concert halls in the world, including Wiener Musikverein, Berlin Philharmonie, Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center (Washington DC), Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, Mariinsky Theatre (St. Petersburg), Kremlin Palace (Moscow), The Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Gasteig (Munich), Wigmore Hall (London), Teatro Argentina (Rome), and his pieces have also been featured on global platforms such as Medici.TV, Mezzo, Euronews, and Bloomberg News. In 2018, he was awarded an honorary professorship at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan. In 2022, Shor was appointed Yehudi Menuhin School’s first associate composer. Warner Classics, DECCA, SONY Classics, Naxos, Delos, Berlin Classics, and Melodiya have all issued CDs with his compositions, and he is also the Composer-In-Residence for the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.
