Everything You Need To Know About Accordi Musicali Academy's Violin Competition

Calling all talented violinists from around the world! The Accordi Musicali Academy returns to the beautiful region of Abruzzo, Italy, for the 11th edition of its highly anticipated International Violin Competition. Taking place from August 1–3, 2025, in the vibrant city of Pescara, this prestigious event provides a world-class platform for emerging string players to showcase their artistry and technical brilliance. Held at the renowned Conservatory of Music "Luisa D’Annunzio", the competition welcomes violinists of all nationalities under the age of 35, offering both performance and educational opportunities, and the chance to be heard by an international panel of distinguished jurors. Applications are now open, with the deadline set for June 27, 2025.

Everything You Need To Know About Accordi Musicali Academy's Violin Competition

Competition Format
The violin competition consists of two rounds, each presented in recital format:

First Round (max 20 minutes):

One movement from a solo work by J.S. Bach
First movement of a violin sonata by Beethoven, Brahms, Schumann, or Grieg
Final Round (max 35 minutes), held at the historic Teatro Marrucino:

Alexey Shor: Violin Sonata No. 1 (ed. M. Vengerov)
First movement of a Mozart Violin Concerto (K. 216, 218, or 219)
One virtuoso showpiece by Saint-Saëns, Sarasate, or Ravel
All pieces except the work by Shor must be performed from memory. Once submitted, repertoire choices cannot be changed.

Prizes
A total prize fund of €9,000 will be awarded:

5 000 € to the 1st Prize
3 000 € to the 2nd Prize
1 000 € to the 3rd Prize
