2026 Accordi Musicali Academy Continues with Masterclasses Led by Pablo Ferrández and Andrey Baranov

Taking place from the 3rd to the 9th of August, the 2026 edition of the Accordi Musicali Academy is bringing together young musicians and internationally renowned artists for a week dedicated to learning, collaboration, and the sharing of musical experience.

On this second day, students had the opportunity to take part in masterclasses led by two outstanding performers: Spanish cellist Pablo Ferrández and Swiss violinist Andrey Baranov. Both artists brought a wealth of experience and insight to the sessions, working closely with participants and offering guidance on technique, interpretation, musical expression, and the deeper artistic choices that shape a performance.

Speaking about his time at Accordi Musicali, Ferrández stated that “it has been a really wonderful experience. The students are very talented and very strong, and what impressed me most was probably the intensity with which they make music. I value that a lot in players, and I could see that intensity in their playing, which was very impressive.”

For the young musicians taking part, meanwhile, the day offered another valuable opportunity to learn directly from artists who are active on some of the world’s leading concert stages, with Ferrández stressing the importance of such opportunities for budding performers. 

“I think this is incredibly important”, he noted, “because when I was growing up, I got a lot of value from these experiences. As a young player, being around great soloists and great teachers gives you a lot of inspiration and a lot of experience. Now I have been on both sides, first as a student and now as a mentor, and I think it is very good for the young musicians, but also for the teachers, because it makes you think about how you do things and how to translate ideas for the students.”

With the Academy now truly hitting its stride, all eyes are turning to the rest of the week, with many more masterclasses still to come, led by such stars as violinists Aleksey Semenenko (Ukraine), and Sergei Dogadin (Austria), and clarinettist Fabrizio Meloni (Italy), to mention a few. Under their watchful eyes, this initiative promises to continue to provide an inspiring environment in which students from all across the world can grow, discover new ideas, and take the next step forward on their artistic journeys towards professional music careers.
