In the heart of Chieti’s historic center stands Palazzo dei Veneziani, an 18th-century building with a beautiful façade featuring three elegantly decorated doorways, overlooking Largo Teatro Vecchio. Originally, it housed one of the first modern theaters in Abruzzo—the Teatro di Chieti—a private initiative by Anna Maria Fasolo, who had it built around 1750.

About Chieti

Chieti, a town with roots dating back to ancient times, stands as a true gem in the heart of Abruzzo, Italy. Founded by the Italic Marrucini people and later flourishing under Roman rule, Chieti is one of Italy's oldest cities, rich in history and culture. Its ancient heritage comes to life at the Roman Theater, where visitors can explore the remnants of a grand amphitheater, and in the Archeological Museum La Civitella, home to priceless artifacts like the Capestrano Warrior, an iconic symbol of Italic civilization.

Chieti's charm is also in its blend of medieval and Renaissance architecture. The stunning Cathedral of San Giustino mixes Romanesque and Gothic elements, while the Palazzo de' Mayo, a Renaissance palace, showcases the town’s artistic roots.
